"Dog Days"
Hi everyone! I haven't given you an update on Duncan in a while, and he's now seven and a half months old! I can't believe it; I feel like life is just whizzing by at the speed of light. Remember how long and slow the days and weeks seemed when we were children?

It's A Pup's Life
Does anyone out there besides me miss The Far Side comic strips? Oh my goodness, Gary Larson was so funny, and his take on animals was just priceless. :) All weekend I've been thinking of the piece he did about the man scolding his dog, Ginger.
I would love to show an image of the cartoon, but I'm afraid of getting sued. Anywho, it's a split picture of the owner reprimanding his dog. The first part of the picture is titled "What You Say To Your Dog." The owner is pointing his finger at his dog and saying, "Okay, Ginger! I've had it! You stay out of the garbage! Understand, Ginger?" The other half of the picture is titled "What Your Dog Hears" -- same image of the man pointing to his dog, and the little speech bubble says, "blah blah GINGER blah blah blah blah blah blah GINGER blah blah blah." It's funnier with the picture of course, but maybe you get the general idea. You can view the actual comic strip Here. Take out the word Ginger and insert Duncan, and that's been our weekend. :-D

Duncan
We're tired today. :) Yesterday was a full day. The trip to Raeford seemed longer than we'd counted on, but it was a pretty drive there. We drove through Pinehurst, which is where many of the pro golf tournaments are played -- such a pretty town. I always enjoy a little day trip, especially when we're going to a spot we're not familiar with. I know we drove through these towns many years ago on our way to the beach, but we don't take that route anymore so it was like visiting for the first time.
Say "Hello" to Duncan!

"Going To The Dogs"
It seems that things around here have just gone to the dogs. Anyone reading my blog over the past month will probably get that impression. I do apologize for showing puppy pictures so often, but I couldn't resist showing you this last group of pics. We'll be traveling for about two hours on Saturday to pick up our new little canine friend, and I guess that's the last time he'll get to be with his litter mates. I hope he won't miss them too much.
The breeder sent these pictures on Monday. She took the pups outside for the first time on Sunday, and she said they had such a blast. They played with pine cones and learned to go up and down steps. She wrote that true to life, the girls managed to do everything first, while the boys were busy exploring their new world. :)

It's Monday Again
Good morning and Happy Monday to you! I hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend. Ours was very nice with gorgeous, spring-like weather, but I understand the polar vortex may not be finished with us yet. Sigh.
Here are a few pictures to (hopefully) put a smile on your face. :)

Puppy Update
Hi folks. Thank you so much for your response to my earlier post showing pictures of our new pup! You were all so encouraging and sweet -- I really appreciate it!! I'm still a little nervous because for starters, I really miss MacDuff; and then it's been so long since we had a busy puppy in the house, I hope we can keep up. We are excited, though, and looking forward to his arrival at our home.
The breeder sent us some really cute pictures yesterday, so as promised, I'll share them in order to keep you updated. As of Friday, they were four weeks old, and as the breeder said in the e-mail, "...they're now halfway to your homes." She has put collars on all the puppies in order to more easily distinguish the black females from the black males. :) I think they really look adorable in their plaid collars!

New Puppy Pictures
Happy Monday everyone! I have a few cute, cuddly puppies to show you. The breeder that we are getting our new Scottie puppy from sends e-mails to us (and the owners of the other pups in the litter) at least once a week, with updated pictures and info. about the puppies. I love that she does this!! They are three weeks old now, and they will be able to go home with their new families at eight weeks old.
This weekend, Jane shared that they all got their nails trimmed, got their first wet feeding, and were introduced to toys; then they promptly crashed after all the excitement. :)
