I really appreciate those of you who still check my blog for updates; I haven't done a post since June 1st. I didn't expect to be away so long, but I've had to take some time to get things back in order around here. The kitchen re-model is essentially done, except for those last little finishing touches that we need to do ourselves. It actually ended up taking four months (felt like four-ev-er). I'm hoping to show the final reveal before too much longer.
Yesterday we went to the Piedmont Triad Farmer's Market, just outside of Greensboro, NC.
I've always loved going to the Farmer's Market on Saturdays in the summer, and for the first part of our married life, I went quite regularly. When our son was so busy in middle school and high school, I got out of the habit of going. We have lots of small Farmer's Markets all around our area, but this one has a pretty large selection.
This is a great time of year to go, because lots of good produce is coming in. It was crowded and so hot, but I was glad to be there. We came home with lots of goodies.
Irish Cobbler potatoes -- $3.00
Peaches from the North Carolina sandhills -- $5.00
"Pink" German Johnson tomatoes -- $2.00
Big bouquet of fresh flowers -- $6.00, and 18 ears of Silver King corn (not shown) -- $9.00. Delicious food for our family -- Priceless. :)
Are you enjoying the summer harvest at your house? I hope you're staying cool wherever you may be; our weather forecast is in the 90's for the next ten days. We've had triple digits in our area all weekend. Ugh.
Thanks so much for visiting me and especially to those of you who've been faithfully following my blog. I'll definitely be posting, and visiting all of you, more regularly now.
Cheers,
Denise
