Photos on Canvas

The weekend is here -- are you ready?  We actually have a forecast for a sunny day tomorrow, yippee!!  It will still be cold, but the sunshine will be most welcome.  It's sunny here today, too, and that's what made me decide to take some pictures this morning.  I want to share something Hal gave me for Christmas this year.

I was so surprised when I opened these on Christmas day; Hal had two photos, which he took on one of our trips to Charleston, put on canvas for me.  I'm so excited!!  I've wanted to do this for awhile, since we did some of his pictures for our parents a few years ago.  I had actually selected these two photos; we said we would send them off at some point, and I promptly forgot about them.

I chose these particular pictures because they represent two of the things I love most in Charleston, the window boxes filled with flowers and the gorgeous old wrought-iron that you see everywhere in the city.

When he ordered these, Hal chose an option to have them edited to look more like paintings.  I think they did a good job with that!  I cropped so you could see this effect close up.  The lavender flowers look like they have brush strokes, and the window box itself has a softened look.

You can see the same effect on this picture.  I'm thrilled with these and hope to hang this picture (directly above) in the guest bedroom this weekend.  The other picture with the flowers will go over the bed this spring and summer to replace the Charleston poster print over the bed below.

This is not in any way a sponsored post, but I want to let you know that Hal ordered these pictures on canvas through our local Sam's Club.  We normally wait for the place online (can't remember the company) to run a special, but Hal decided to give Sam's Club a try.  I'm thrilled with the results, and I have a feeling it was probably a better bang for the buck.

Have you ever had any of your photos put on canvas?  Did you like the way they turned out?  Thank you all for visiting, and I hope you have a great weekend.  Stay warm!

  5. What a wonderful gift! And, it’s so personal. Like you, I love window boxes full of flowers (why do you mine never look like that here?), and interesting, southern architecture. I had a photo put on canvas once, and was very pleased with how beautifully it came out. Thanks for sharing this lovely gift.
