Some New Winter Clothes
Hello there my dears -- I hope you're having a good day. I can't imagine being in the Midwest today; I hope folks there are managing to stay warm. Today, I'm sharing a few things that I'm wearing this winter season. These were all Christmas gifts in 2018.
My sister gave me this blouse, and I have so enjoyed wearing it. I've always loved blouses with a pretty pattern, and this one fits the bill perfectly. I love the floral design and the contrasting stripes on the cuffs.
The back has these seams, which give the blouse a nice, tailored look.
I do love a soft sweater and I'm a big fan of pink, so another win/win here. My mom gave me this sweater. It has sort of a loose fit,
and a small cable-knit pattern.
It can be paired with this scarf Hal brought me from Ireland several years ago. If you look closely at the right side, you can see the Celtic knot pattern on the fabric; it's kind of hard to see as this is a tone on tone pattern.
When Hal brought me this scarf, I had never seen this combination of silk and wool before. It's pretty but also fairly delicate, so I have to be careful not to pick it.
And speaking of scarves, Hal gave me this scarf for Christmas; isn't the color pretty? I've realized that my camera is not accurately capturing the color of this scarf. It really is much more of a salmon pink in person, but it looks more orange in the pictures. It's a softer color than this, but it isn't a true pink like the pink sweater my mom gave me.
It's cashmere, which is a real treat for me.
My sweet niece gave me this scarf -- such a fun, pretty pattern. I put it on, tied it, and slipped it back over my head for the picture. I like this way of tying scarves; I got it from Rhoda's blog, Southern Hospitality. She has a video on the sidebar demonstrating how to do this.
This is the darker part of the fabric. Anna did a good job picking out my scarf. :)
Mr. Forest Manor actually gave me this sweater for Christmas in 2017, but I don't think I've ever shown it here.
He purchased it online at our favorite Scottish shopping place, Gretna Green -- love, love this sweater.
I thought about wearing the new scarf with this..
but the blue scarf looks good with it, too.
These are almost a match; I can't decide. What do you think?
I have to tell you that I like it when my family buys clothes for me; it saves me the hassle of doing it myself. 😀 They do a good job picking things out, and I really have to be in the mood to shop for clothes.
Thanks so much for visiting today, and I hope you have a good rest of the week!
Hugs,
Oh I'm with you...hate shopping for clothes with a red hot passion. One problem: my family doesn't do very well keeping me in clothes.
ReplyDeleteYour family has done a wonderful job. I really like the orange scarf with that shirt and I think it is a good match, too. It must look wonderful with your dark hair.
I don't enjoy shopping for clothes, either. I can never find what I want. I think the orange scarf goes well with your new shirt. What a great collection of thoughtful gifts you received.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have your family to buy such beautiful clothes, and accessories for you, Denise. They did such a good job and I'm sure you look so nice in all your pretty clothes.
ReplyDeleteOh I love it all. I love wearing scarves and yours are truly lovely!
