Welcome December

December brings the shortest days and longest nights of the year.  Derived from the Latin word decem  (meaning ten) because it was originally the tenth month of the year in the Roman calendar, which began in March.  The month in which Christians celebrate Advent and Christmas -- the birth of Christ.

We jumped straight from Thanksgiving into Christmas preparations.  I'll bet you're doing the same at your house.  I'll be hosting the family on Christmas day again; I last did that in 2018.  We are looking forward to it but have a lot to get done between now and then.

I hope you are all well and had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Have a good week, my friends.

Blessings,

  2. That's always a great motivation to have the gathering at your home. We started earlier than usual this year, too. All I have left to do is finish putting the ornaments on the tree. Happy December preparations to you!

  3. Enjoy getting ready for hosting and Christmas. It's such a special time of year. Things are busy at our place, too. I love this season.
