April in Charleston

Hello everyone!  How was your week?  It's been a while since I've posted, but we've had so much going on here.  We had some tree work done, which I'll write more about later.  We got back home yesterday evening from a four-day trip to Charleston, South Carolina -- one of our favorite places to visit.

This was the view from our rooms this year.  It was the first time we've had a balcony, actually the first time we've had a room on the back of the inn, and we loved it.  The back looks onto the courtyard, which I've shown in previous posts.

I very much enjoyed being able to open the french doors and hear the sound of the church bells from St. Phillip's Episcopal Church a few streets over.

This year, we visited some of the old cemeteries in the city, did a home and garden tour of some of Charleston's private residences, and we spent a day at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens.  We had a great time and we are so appreciative to my parents for letting us stay at their timeshare in the heart of the historic French Quarter in Charleston.

We enjoyed some delicious food during our stay, and I'll be sharing more about that, too.  I had lost five pounds before we left for Charleston, which I was very excited about, but I gained back a little over a pound on the trip.  We did a lot of walking, but we also ate a lot of rich food, so I've got to get tough with myself about eating and exercise.

Please stop back by for some more posts on Charleston; there is so much to see and do in this city and surrounding area.  I hope you're having a good spring so far, and thank you, as always, for your visit!

Blessings,

  2. Always good to get away and do some exploring and enjoying. Loved the photos, especially the one of the segmented moon floating by on the water. 😉 Well that’s just what it looked like to me.

  4. Oh, how wonderful to go to Charleston. It is truly a magical city full of wonderful food and lovely churches, homes and gardens. I can't wait for you to share the garden tours. Every year when I read about people going to the tours I say I need to plan ahead to do that. I've only been one time and that was in the fall. I remember seeing beautiful peacocks also.Thinking back on it I was probably there six years ago. I don't think I ever blogged about it and I took so many pictures. Don't know how I stay so behind.
I will enjoy your posts on the rest of your trip. Thanks for your sweet visit.
