Sorry the lighting is a bit stark in these pictures; I had to use the flash (which I hate to do) because our den is dark in the early part of the day. I tried to soften them so they wouldn't look so harsh. I promise he doesn't stay in this playpen all the time, but I almost have to put him in here if I want to get a picture of him. Otherwise, he's moving around too much for me to get a decent picture. :)
He really has grown a lot. We've had him a little over two months now, and he's quite the eager eater.
Mr. Serious...
Sorry folks. I realize this one isn't very modest, but he cracks me up when he sleeps like this. MacDuff used to do this too, and I could never understand how this would be comfortable.
This is my favorite picture of the bunch; to get one with him smiling like this is hard to do. He's still keeping us hopping, as puppies tend to do. He's had some laugh-out-loud exploits, which I'll share with you later in the week. :-D Since it's Monday, I have some catching up to do after the weekend.
In other news around the homestead, you know how we love to feed and observe the birds here. We now have four feeders in the back -- two bark butter feeders, a seed feeder, and a suet feeder. We're getting goldfinches this spring, something we haven't had in several years, the bluebirds are here, along with cardinals, chickadees, wrens, nuthatches, and woodpeckers.
We also have our annual Robin's nest on the front porch column. They are messy housekeepers, let me tell you. Some birds build such perfectly neat little nests, but not the robins. They have bits of straw and twigs sticking out and hanging down everywhere. I like to see the babies, but what a mess. Well, it's all part of spring here at Forest Manor.
We worked outside this weekend and got a lot accomplished -- such a good feeling. We pruned and cleaned out in front of the house on one side of the porch. Mr. Forest Manor said he has to go back to work to get some rest. :) This week, I'll be weeding on the other side and then putting out fresh pine needles. Then it will be time to put new flowers in my planters for the front porch. By the way, the pollen is unbelievably bad here this spring. Everything was delayed in blooming because of the cold winter, so now it's all blooming at the same time. It's beautiful, but hard on people who suffer from allergies.
That's all for me at the moment; how about you? What did you do this weekend? I hope you enjoyed some spring weather wherever you may be. Thanks so much for stopping by and reading -- I love for you to visit me. Have a great day!
Denise
HI Denise! Oh, little Duncan has grown and so handsome. I know how puppies keep you hopping! :) Sounds like you've been the busiest one! Take care.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
He sure is a cutie!!!!
ReplyDeleteTwo months already?!?!? Oh he does look like he keeps you hopping! Have fun! (and stay alert...:@)
ReplyDeleteDuncan is adorable and growing so fast!
ReplyDeleteWhat cutie, that Duncan. He seems quite content contained. I think I could sit and watch your bird feeder all day with the sweet variety of visitors that you have. We have red winged black birds, grackles, sparrows, all pretty common and I exciting. Soon I hope to see the more colorful and exciting migrating birds.,we don't get cardinals here. Wish we did.
ReplyDeleteI know you're enjoying your little Duncan, Denise. He sure is cute! It sounds like you've been busy around your house. Enjoy those birds! xo
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute! I even like the little flasher picture...
ReplyDeleteReally, what is so pretty about him is his coloring. I don't think I've seen many like it. He stands out in the crowd, so to speak.
I remembered that you were a bird watcher. I love it too, but you get better ones, or at least better shots of them.
What did we do? We did major cleaning too. Ours was not only in the back yard and around the house but mainly in the garage. We have shelves in there and other spaces which had become Debbie's "shooshing" ground, where I have been shooshing far too many things. We have a LOT to show for our work, but nothing is bloggable.
(Because I would have to show you the BEFORE photos for impact, and well...)
Oh, Duncan is sooo cute. Thanks for showing us how much he's grown and how cute he is.
ReplyDeleteOh both my boys also sleep on their backs with their heads tilted to the side and its so funny. Your Duncan is just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend.
