Happy Halloween everyone!
We rarely have many trick or treaters stop at our house these days. There was a fairly large group of kids when our son was growing up, and we parents would take turns going around with the group. It was great fun. However, our house is down near the bottom of the hill of a cul de sac, and people just don't bother to walk down this way unless they live in one of the surrounding houses. We always get candy, though, just in case.
Have you seen "Stranger Things" yet?
Our son talked us into watching the first season last year, and surprisingly, we enjoyed it. There are five young kids (middle school-age) and three teenagers (high school) who are the big stars of the show, in addition to Winona Ryder. We don't watch a lot of scary shows here, but Stranger Things is scary and funny, too. We loved looking back at the 80's -- hearing the music and seeing the big hair again. 😎 I think what we got the biggest kick out of, though, was the kids. They are a precocious bunch, and they had some great lines. The boys were at the age where it was cool to start cursing, so there were some a lot of words thrown in. Just a disclaimer in case you're thinking of watching. We haven't seen any of this season yet, so I can't vouch for the language.
Last year I read that this show was a combination of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King --as in "E.T." and "Stand by Me". I think this was true of last season, but it was also a bit scarier than those movies. Hubs and I are planning to watch Episode 1, Season 2 tonight. If you watch, I'd love to know what you think. :)
Have a great evening and thank you for visiting!!

It's odd that I just read something else about Stranger Things about an hour ago! Hadn't heard of it, but now twice within an hour!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check this series out. Thanks for the recommendation.
