A Busy Month Ahead

I may have to take some breaks from blogging during the next three or four weeks.  We have a lot going on here at the hacienda.  :)  I have a sewing class and project to finish.  Our teacher has kindly offered to let us make up a class because we've had to miss a few due to sickness and a concert at our son's university.

The big event in our lives right now is that our son is about to graduate from college in just about three and a half weeks.

Honestly, I don't know how these four years flew by so quickly -- even faster than high school.  We love our son dearly and are very proud of him.  So, we're hoping to have a little graduation celebration here after the ceremony.

Between now and then, I'll be addressing and mailing out graduation announcements and getting our house in order.  It needs to be cleaned and de-cluttered from stem to stern.  Lots and lots to do.

I've already fallen behind in returning visits from this past weekend's blog parties.  To all of you who visited and left me such sweet comments, please forgive me.  I usually make it a point to try and acknowledge all visits and comments.  I'm not one of those bloggers who gets hundreds of comments on my posts, and I still have to work hard to return all the comments and visits.  I'm not kidding when I say I feel guilty if I don't reply to every comment; I feel like I've been really rude.  I know I miss one or two people some weeks, but not usually.  Does it worry you when you can't return visits?

Now I'm running on and on.  I don't want to totally take a break for three or four weeks.  I know it sounds weird, but when I don't blog for a week or so, it seems like I get more spam comments and some really questionable traffic sources showing up on my dashboard -- not the kind of sites I want as traffic sources.  Most of all, I hate to be away from my blog, because I love blogging (too much so sometimes).  I love my blogger friends; you're the best part of this new hobby/adventure for me.  I've decided to post when I can, and if you don't get many visits from me for a few weeks, please know that I'll be back to visiting you just as soon as possible.

See you soon.

Denise

  3. You must be so proud and excited! I remember when our older daughter graduated from college. It was one of the most wonderful (and yet almost a little scary) times of our lives.

Hope that if he hasn't secured a job yet he gets one really soon.

(I don't like being away from blogging for a different reason. For me, being away just keeps me away if that makes sense.)

  4. We can only do what we can do so I try not to fret too much over comments that get away from me. "Blogging without obligation" is a fine theory, though if one practices it all the time...

Congrats to your graduate! That's a wonderful achievement. All the very best to him.

  5. Congrats on the upcoming graduation. That is fantastic. I also just viewed your last 2 posts. The flowers around your yard are gorgeous. This year I am working on getting a few more flowering plants in the ground at our house.

I wanted to let you know I made the bark butter. I ran across a feeder that my papaw made years ago before he passed away. I'm almost 100% sure it was intended to be a bark butter like feeder. The little birds in our yard love it. I've had my humming bird feeder out for a while now and just this past Sunday we saw one. They have been showing up regular ever since.

  8. Congrats on your son's college graduation! I hope he lands the job of his dreams right away. Enjoy this time, take your time, and don't worry about the blog. In light of the tragic events the past week, in Boston, and Waco, blogs take a very very very low priority. Life and family first. Plenty of time for pretend tables later! lol Enjoy! xo
