Lenox "Holiday" Tablescape

I set a Christmas table this year, even though my family got together at my mom's house.  I made some pictures since I'll shortly be taking this down and putting everything away until next Christmas.  These were the dishes I inherited last year when Hal's great-aunt, Dorothy, passed away.  My sister-in-law will be getting a set, as well.  I feel so fortunate to have received these dishes; they really do set such a pretty table.

I put these dishes out last Christmas just to get an idea of how they would look.  This year though, I made an extra effort to create a pretty tablescape.  I purchased the new gold placemats and the place cards to go in the pretty, ornament place card holders.  Everything else I already had -- the table runner, the red goblets, the candles, flatware, Christmas crackers, brass candlesticks, and boxwood candle rings.  The napkins were purchased last year.

For the centerpiece on this table, I used the pedestal cake stand; I think this is such a pretty piece.  I had used these two pillar candles in the first Christmas tablescape I did on my blog.  The post was called "Pretty in Plaid" if you're interested in seeing it.  The small gold balls are glass ornaments that I've used on my tree, and on the dining table, in years past.  These red goblets came from Pier One a few years ago.

I tried a new (to me) napkin fold this year; it was fun to do and not difficult at all.  I saw this on Facebook in 2018, and I gave it a try this Christmas.  My hubby was really impressed.  😃  I've had the gold foil crackers for several years, also.  All the gold and brass just really popped with the trim on these dishes.

I didn't have any placemats that I felt did justice to this china, but I found these at Bed, Bath & Beyond in December.  I love their elegant look.

I found these place cards, made by Caspari, online at Amazon.  I think everything Caspari makes is beautiful.  :)

I put some Shiny Brite-style ornaments in my little Waterford bowl.

Our son gave me the Johnson Brothers Christmas platter back in 2013; it's one of my very favorites.

The more I see these dishes, the prettier they are to me.  I really am so thankful to have been gifted this set of china.

Have you put all your Christmas decorations away yet?  Have you had much snow where you live?  So far, we haven't had any here.  Our winter has been rather mild, actually, but an awful lot of people have been sick.  People in our family have had bad colds and bronchitis, but no flu so far.  I hope you all stay warm and well, and have a wonderful week.

Thank you so much for reading my blog!  I appreciate it more than I can tell you!

I'll be linking to the Tablescape Thursday party at Between Naps on the Porch.  Thank you for hosting, Susan.

  2. Great-aunt Dorothy would be so pleased to know that you treasure the dishes. They certainly are beautiful and you set a lovely table. No, Christmas around here never really goes away. The tree will come down this weekend, but there are candles and lights and even a wee tree in my decor.

  3. Denise - What an amazing gift you've received and look what you've done with it! You really have set it off perfectly in your setting. That napkin fold is impressive. Lenox holiday is my absolute favorite holiday china and I've always coveted it. Recently, a friend gave me his late mother's two tiered tray and I proudly used it this Christmas. May you have many wonderful gatherings around yours in the years to come.

  6. Such a lovely table! I've always loved Lenox's Holiday pattern since I saw it the first time many years ago on my aunt's Christmas table. So it always says 'Christmas' to me. Next year I'm going to give those tree napkins a try.

  7. The Lenox dishes are beautiful, and you've set such a pretty table with them. Christmas is mostly put away here, but there are still plenty of candles and some twinkle lights.

  13. Aren't you fortunate to be gifted those gorgeous Lenox dishes, Denise? You certainly showcased them so beautifully in your tablescape. I am in love with the pretty JB platter that your son gave you. I actually left the little bedroom tree up, and put some Valentine decorations on it. I have it on a timer, and it comes on in the morning and evening. I love the twinkle!
