Hi everyone! I finally got the fall touches added to our den a few weeks ago; I'm behind schedule for fall decor. :) We don't usually go out of town in October, and this year we went to the coast for three days. So, now I'm working on fall and pre-holiday cleaning. I want to get the house nice and clean before it's time to start dragging out the Christmas decs.
Our den usually tends to look dark in pictures, but in person it's a cozy room.
I just realized today as I was taking these pictures that this is really an autumn room. All the colors are autumn colors, and that's okay with me; it's my favorite time of year.

I bought this tassel the first year I started my blog. I still love the acorn surrounded by fall-colored ribbons.
The above picture is from fall 2012. Except for a few small changes, I re-used the same things this year.
I switched out the pumpkin bowl for a Tom Clarke gnome.
A comfy chair with a soft, cozy throw is a good place to warm yourself beside the fire.
I love the curvy stem on this pumpkin. ;)
The bookshelves you've seen many times now. Above is the way they looked this summer,
and now in October.
A pine cone candelabra,
and salt-glazed pottery mugs in shades of brown, taupe, and gray transform the look from summer to fall.
More shades of fall...
I've had this Fleur-de-lis for years, and I purchased the faux acorns last fall. I love these because they're not as messy as real acorns, and best of all, no yucky worms. :)
A collection of Edgar Allan Poe stories offers spooky reading for fall and Halloween.
Even the trees in this watercolor are dressed in their fall foliage.
HAPPY FALL Y'ALL! Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful weekend.

ReplyDeleteYour headers have been super changing from time to time. I used to do that seasonly and got very lazy. You are inspiring me to get going again but I think I have forgotten how.
