Once Upon A Time in a place called North Carolina, there lived a husband, a wife and son, a dog, a cat, and two sets of grandparents.  The husband was working on a big computer software installation at his company's Ireland facility in Kilkeel, Northern Ireland.

Happy Thursday, everyone!  It's raining cats and dogs here; how about where you are?  Yesterday was a breath of spring, today is a blast of winter .  {:/  However, next week, we'll have more daylight in the evenings, and I'm looking forward to that!

Our family was all gathered at my parents' house back in February to celebrate my mom's birthday.  It was a fun time, and before we left my mom gave my sister and I these pictures, which used to hang in our bedroom when we were babies and toddlers.  We shared a bedroom until I was ten years old.

Downton Abbey Season Five

***SPOILER ALERT***

Did you watch Downton Abbey Sunday night?  I thought for a few several minutes last night that we were going to miss the season finale.  Our picture and sound kept blinking off -- I mean like every 30 to 60 seconds.  My first thought was that I hope it's not time to purchase a new TV; my second thought was that it could not have picked a worse time to go on the blink.  Hubby finally turned the DVR off and then back on, and that fixed the problem.  The TV problem, that is.  There is really no way to turn the barking dog off -- seriously, no matter how many times we pointed the remote at him, he just wouldn't turn off.  ;)  We did manage to get the gist of the show, though; thank goodness for the "Pause" feature on DVR.

Dashing Thru' The Snow

Well, I know everyone is sick of snow and cold weather this year, so I won't belabor the point.  ;)  We received our biggest snowfall of the season here in North Carolina last night, and I realize it's small potatoes compared to what people farther north have gotten this winter.  It's our second snow this week.

Decorating With Lamps

Raise your hand if you normally use the overhead lighting in your home and don't bother with lighting lamps.  Anyone?  I'm definitely not raising my hand.  :)  I love lamplight.  It's one of the first things I want to set up when moving into a home, because once I have lamps to turn on in the evening or on a cloudy day, I really feel like I'm home.
