Susie's Christmas House

Hello dear friends!  Is it cold, wet, and dreary where you are?  It certainly is here.  Brrr!

I know you're all ready to be done with Christmas, but today I'm sharing the home of my mom's good friend and neighbor, Susie.  I promised to photograph her house in all its Christmas glory, but I simply did not have time to get over there before Christmas, or even before New Year's Day.  Last Monday, I visited my mom and we checked out Susie's Christmas home.  I actually did another Christmas post about this house when my blog was still very new, back in December 2012.  You can read that Here and Part 2 Here.

This is the foyer -- I love that mirror.

I showed this in the post back in 2012; it's a platform "tree" made especially to display Susie's Dept. 56 village.  She said it took her five hours just to set this up.

A few close-ups,

From the foyer, you turn left into the dining room.  Susie has done a frosty, glittery tablescape for Christmas.

I like these etched glass salad plates, and the gold and white napkins are very elegant.

I thought this tiered serving piece was gorgeous!

These are more shots of the dining room.

The kitchen has a much more playful, light-hearted look.

and cute chili pepper lights.  ;)

That's all for this post.  I'll show the rest of Susie's house in another post.  Speaking of Christmas decorations, I'm still taking mine down and putting them away.  Sigh.  I wanted to be further along on that by now, but I got a mild cold after New Year's, and it threw me off schedule.
I hope you're all getting off to a good start for 2019; I'm hoping for good things this year.  What are your plans for the month of January?  Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day!

  4. Wonderful look the wreaths at the windows. I had to go back to see if I was telling the truth when I say that I have never seen a plarform tree for Christmas villages. (I am telling the truth as I had not visited the former tour.) And the cardinals are wonderful! If they were mine, they’d be up all winter. What a lot of work this level of decorating demands!

  5. Oh my word, what a beautifully decorated home, Denise! The platform tree is so unusual and what a great idea for Susie's display. I loved the darling kitchen tree and all the kitchen decor. The home looks beautiful on the outside as well. Thanks for sharing with us.
