Tartan Parade

Happy Monday everyone!  Have you seen Alison's blog, The PolohouseI enjoy reading her posts because she decorates her home in English country style, and I'm a big fan of English country.  :)  Alison is having a "Tartan Parade" on her blog today, and I decided to join in.  I haven't been participating in link parties for the last few months because life has just been too hectic, but a party featuring tartan plaids was hard for me to resist.

I love tartan plaid -- both in my wardrobe and in our home.  We have bits of tartan scattered throughout the house, so I'll share some here (I apologize to my readers who've seen these before).

I love these foxes, dressed for the hunt.  ;)  My sweet husband gave these to me for Christmas a few years ago.

Duncan's first toy -- a gift from the breeder.  These can be purchased at "Harry Barker" here.

I've done a couple of tartan plaid tablescapes for Christmas over the years.  Napkins from Expressions online.

Of course, a Scottie likes to be fashionable, too.  ;)  If you'd like a tartan plaid collar for your favorite pooch, you can order one online from the "Tartan Scottie" website.

Care to cuddle up with a warm Scottish tartan blanket?  I found good quality tartan plaid throws at Gretna Green online here.

With Christmas coming, it should be easy to slip some tartan, or just plain plaids, into your home.  ;)

It's too hot here in summer to look at tartan plaids, but when fall rolls in, I pull out the plaid.  How about you?  Do you like to show your highland colors?

Thanks so much for your visit -- I appreciate you spending some of your time here.  I hope you'll stop by The Polohouse for Alison's Tartan Parade.  Have a great day!

Denise

  2. You have a great collection- love that picture with Duncan and the tartan toy! I just remembered I have a red tartan throw I keep in the car in case we need it- the picture of the two throws on the chair reminded me since mine looks like your red one. Love that statue on the hearth with the red tartan ribbon tied on- too cute!

  4. Is that a doorstop or a ceramic Scottie? So cute! I do not have a lot of plaid, though I do like the look and I really enjoy my Christmas plaid tablecloth.

  7. Everything looks so beautiful and cosy, Denise. Don't let a Scot catch you suggesting that tartan is part of an English country style, though!
