Memorial Day

Thank you to our American military men and women currently serving all around the world and to all our veterans for your service and sacrifice to our country.  We would not remain free without you.

 U.S.S. North Carolina, Wilmington, N.C.

U.S. Coast Guard Station, Oak Island, North Carolina

 Blowing Rock, N.C., War Memorial

Roll of Honor, U.S.S. North Carolina

Old Smithville Burying Ground, Southport, North Carolina

I like the original name of the holiday, Decoration Day -- for me it conjures up images of families decorating the graves of loved ones who fought in the Civil War.  The name still applies today, as people still decorate the graves of fallen veterans.

Wishing you a meaningful Memorial Day.

Blessings,

Denise
